Yamane Seigan is a ceramic artist from Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
With a thirty-year career as a karate instructor at a martial arts dojo, he began self-taught ceramics in 1987.
His distinctive glaze, known as "Seigan Blue" or Aohagi, has gained popularity overseas, and his works such as sake cups are traded both domestically and internationally.
